A Night At The Avalon is a concert featuring music from the new musical, Wildwood, created and written by Michael Kimmel (Songbird, The Last Goodbye) with music and lyrics by Elliah Heifetz (Dust Can’t Kill Me). The night will feature some of Broadway’s biggest stars performing selections of the score, best described as “If Bill Haley and Billy Idol had a musical baby.”

In the 1950’s, Wildwood NJ was known as “The Las Vegas of the East.” For three months a year, this small south Jersey town turned into the biggest party of the summer. Everything converged in Wildwood- The Rat Pack, doo wop, soul, and the beginnings of rock and roll.

Inspired by Tennessee Williams’ Sweet Bird of Youth, beach party movies, and Amy Winehouse, Wildwood is about the excitement and corruption of hope and promise in the 1950’s, and how we try to move forward after the neon goes out.
